American Board of Healthcare Professionals was founded in 1983. Throughout the years, ABHCP has adapted to the changing landscape of the medical profession with industry-leading education materials, including certifications in Medical Billing, HIPAA Privacy Regulations, Medical Administration and much more.
ABHCP is the third largest medical administrative specialty board in the United States. It is a voluntary, not-for-profit, private organization whose purposes include:
- Improving the quality of medical care available to the public
- Establishing and maintaining standards of excellence in the specialty of Medical Administration
- Improving the standards of medical education for training in Administrative Medicine
- Determining by evaluation the fitness of specialists in Family Medicine who apply for and hold certificates
